About My Job:

As the web designer for the site, I work behind the scenes to make sure that all of the codes that make the Vision aesthetically pleasing are valid. This year, I've worked with my peers and our advisor to bring a new look to our paper. I started with a blank page and wrote the new design from scratch while drawing inspiration from popular sites that use flat web design. Rather than using gradients and textures to create a realistic image, I've worked to create a simple layout that allows everyone to focus primarily on the content within. Though it is by no means finished, we have made great progress, and I hope to continue to do so in the future.

About Me:

Though I've spent most of my life living in the Delta, I've lived in a few other places too. During my fourth and fifth grade years, my mom and I took a break from Mississippi and moved to Harrison, Arkansas. After two years there, we decided to come back to my home state, and we resumed our lives in the Delta. In 2010, I moved in with my dad who lives in Flowood. While there, I was enrolled in Northwest Rankin High School. Though I made new friends and enjoyed extracurricular activities such as colorguard, I decided that I wanted to further explore academics. I applied to MSMS beginning in November of my sophomore year, and well, here I am.

I offered to work on the site for the Vision because of my affinity for technology and art. While I was at Northwest Rankin, I took a vocational class entitled Digital Media I.By the end of my first year in the class, I was able to become an Adobe Certified Associate in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash. Now I'm putting my skills to use and hoping to learn more about digital productions and media.

In addition, I absolutely love photography. Though most of my pictures are landscape, I do like to take portraits and attempt conceptual photography. I'm definitely not saying that I'm a great photographer (or even a photographer at all, for that matter!), but it's definitely something that makes me happy.
