Favorite Authors

Among Mrs. Richardson's favorite British authors are William Wordsworth, Alfred Tennyson, Jane Austen, the Brontes, and Gerard Manley Hopkins. Contemporary Southern writers she enjoys are Kaye Gibbons, Clyde Edgerton, Larry Brown, Jill McCorkle, Eudora Welty, Lewis Nordan, Nanci Kincaid, and Lee Smith (many of these Southern writers are published by Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill founded by Louis Rubin of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill).

Mrs. Richardson's children in July, 1996, with Algonquin writer Dori Sanders at Ms Sanders' peach farm in York Co., S.C. Ms. Sanders had appeared the previous day on the Today Show taped in Atlanta during the Olympics.
